Kontron AG ranks as one of the world's largest manufacturers of embedded computer technology (ECT) and supplies leading OEMs, system integrators and application providers in the most varied market segments such as data and telecommunications, automation, mobile computing, medical technology, military technology, aerospace, and measuring and control engineering. They are used, for example, in diagnosis electronics to enhance the efficiency of, for instance, cars, and are employed in medical technology equipment, in energy technology, in bank-card-operated terminals, or for ISDN-based video telephony.
Complex systems allow truck fleets to be networked, manage the flow of data on mobile telephone networks, cater for security and speed on the Internet, and are used in the latest rail technology to calculate angle of gradient and acceleration. These systems are distinguished by a rapid growth in complexity and degree of differentiation, so that an increasing number of solutions such as those developed by the Kontron Group are gaining the upper hand over individual ECT solutions that are often still prevalent.
